Blog vs. Facebook

These days it seems like all our family and friends are just as addicted to Facebook as us. We think we accidentally threw our point and shoot camera away with wrapping paper over Christmas (not a big deal, it was super old and the picture quality was not up to par) but it has created some friction on Facebook. Cameraless, no photos of the baby have been posted to Facebook since Christmas.

The family is not happy.

This is how they see her grow up. Some have told us this is the only reason they go on Facebook. Other says it is the highlight of their Facebook experience. All of this is so sweet to hear. I have thought many times about taking anything related to the baby off Facebook completely.

Instead, I use all the privacy controls available and only post her photos for viewing by my selected "close friends" list of about 60 family members and very close friends. These days, Facebook plain and simple wins over the blog. I am not getting rid of the blog though because social media is changing so rapidly, I have a feeling it will serve a purpose again in the future. If you find you are not seeing pictures of the baby in the next couple months, once we get a new camera and start posting again, let me know and I'll make sure you are on the VIP list.
